CES Trade Show Las Vegas – Bigger & Better Than Ever

The International Consumer Electronics Show held annually in Las Vegas Nevada is one of the largest and longest running trade shows in the United States. The CES show has grown dramatically from the first show in 1967 in New York City with 17,500 attendees to last year’s show which had over 170,000 (one hundred and seventy thousand) attendees and 3,600 exhibitors gathered across 2.2 million square feet of exhibit space. The CES tradeshow, which is owned and produced by the Consumer Electronics Association, has been going strong for 48 years and showcases some of the most exciting consumer electronics products in the world.

CES is truly an international show with more than forty eight thousand international attendees in 2015 from 153 different countries. The Las Vegas CES show is also attended by many senior level executives with 48,600 reported in 2015.

Due to the very large crowds in 2015, the Consumer Electronics Association has announced they will be limiting attendance in 2016 to 176,000 people. The CEA also says there will be additional screening for anyone who didn’t attend the show in the past two years to make sure that they qualify for attendance at the trade show.

This show is used to launch exciting new consumer electronics products and is one of the highest profile shows in the industry. From new TV technology to new computer technology and everything in between the CES show always dazzles and excites.

The 2016 CES trade show is so large it will be held at multiple locations in Las Vegas including the Las Vegas Convention Center and the sands Expo. Additional locations include the Venetian, the Palazzo, Wynn Las Vegas, and Encore at Wynn. The growth of the CES show in 2015 has resulted in new dates for the 2016 show to accommodate the very large expected crowds. The 2016 announced show dates are January 6th thru Saturday January 9th.

Product categories featured at CES range from 3D printing to automotive electronics, computer hardware, software and services, digital imaging and photography, electronic gaming, fitness, health, sports, biotech, online media, robotics, sensors, smart home, wearables, and wireless devices and services.

Many groundbreaking products have been announced at CES ranging from the video cassette recorder (VCR) in 1970, camcorder in 1981, CD players, DVD players in 1996, the Xbox in 2001, Blu ray DVD in 2003, and most recently 3D printers.  According to the Wall Street Journal* you can expect to see an exciting new TV technology called HDR at this year’s show.   New HDR sets from companies like Samsung, Sony, and LG provide a much much broader range of colors and brightness levels that results in the most dramatic visible performance improvement since high def TV.

If you’re planning to exhibit at the CES show in Las Vegas, don’t forget to check out our turnkey Las Vegas booth rental program.  Trade show exhibitors who aren’t using our turnkey program should be sure to ship their displays to the advance warehouse and very carefully label their shipments with all the CES show and booth specific details listed in the CES Exhibitor’s Manual.  If you’re using old crates or cases to ship your trade show booth be sure to scrape off all of your old labels to avoid any possible confusion in the warehouse.  And don’t forget to book your hotel reservations well ahead of time.  Due to the massive size of the CES show all of the best hotels sell out early.
